Ellie Monahan

Chapter President

Hi my name is Ellie Monahan and I’m a second year student pursuing a Applied Math- CFRM degree as well as Political Science- economics degree. I plan on going to law school in the future and live in Washington DC.  I am a Seattle local and have lived here my entire life. I hope to work as a lawyer in the future with a specization in international business law. I love exploring the city and taking day trips to the islands! I love to travel and spent the last summer in Europe and New York. I would love to visit Korea and Japan for my next adventure. While I am in Seattle, I love spending time on the water with my friends and reading in the sun. Game days in the fall are some of my favorite moments as well as the warm and sunny spring days. I look forward to spending time this year exploring more of what Washington has to offer.  Delta Gamma has given me so many lifelong friendships. It is a place away from my chilhood home that I call home. Every person in Delta Gamma has caused me to grow and learn so many things about myself. I cannot wait for the countless opportunities that Presidency will give me to step outside of my comfort zone and change as a person.

Lillian Ekness

Vice President of Social Standards

Hello! My name is Lillian Ekness and I am a second year student studying Physics. I would like to pursue a degree in Astrophysics in graduate school and then work in the research sector. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life so moving to Seattle and the PNW was a big shift for me, but the friends I met through Delta Gamma have greatly helped me adjust. I have loved getting to know all of the different norms and cultures in areas outside of the Midwest. I enjoy going out to eat or shop with my friends because they always know the best spots and take me to new places all the time. I also enjoy being creative through crafts and music, and have gained an appreciation for the piano we have and how playing music brings me and my friends closer. I am very excited and grateful for all the opportunities Delta Gamma has given me to foster new friendships and grow to be the best version of myself. I love that I can step into any room in Delta Gamma and know I have a friend present.

Sammi Huntress

Vice President of Member Education

Hi! My name is Samantha Huntress and I’m a sophomore this year at the University of Washington! Currently, I am majoring in Environmental Studies, but I’ll be applying to the Biology- Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation major in the spring. In my spare time I love sewing, reading historical fiction, long walks on the beach, and coffee dates with friends. I’m from San Diego, California and I chose to move to Seattle to explore a different terrain on the west coast. I didn’t know many people at the beginning of my freshman year, so I started volunteering at the UW Farm and decided to go DG to put myself out there. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I am so thankful for the opportunity to give back to our chapter- these girls are my home away from home.

Merida Prentice

Vice President of Foundation

Hi, my name is Merida Prentice, and I’m a junior pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Public Health. I grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, so coming to UW felt almost like staying in my backyard—although my entire family has since moved away. I’ve always had a passion for exploring new places, and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to more than 20 countries! Delta Gamma has given me so much; It has become a second home filled with lifelong friendships, and countless opportunities to challenge myself and grow as a person. I’m so excited to serve as VP Foundation this year and help make a meaningful impact through our chapter’s philanthropic efforts! Giving back has always been a passion of mine, and I can’t wait to see the positive impact we’ll create together!
