Sydney Golden

Chapter President

Hi! My name is Sydney Golden and I am a second year student intending on majoring in Law, Society, and Justice with a minor in Public Policy. I am from the sunny state of Arizona and I’m always looking to explore more of Seattle and the Pacific North West.  I hope to go to law school post-grad intending to pursue Human Rights or Immigration Law! My dream is to live on the east coast, preferably Boston which I fell in love with as a kid. Some of my favorite things to do are watch movies with friends, go to the beach, and hike, all of which I have been lucky to share with so many of my Delta Gamma sisters. One of my favorite DG memories was the first snowday I got to experience, throwing snowballs with my friends and walking around the beautiful snow-covered campus. I am so excited to give back to an organization that has given me so much as well as take on a more involved role in something I am so passionate about. Delta Gamma has given me countless fond memories and friendships I hope to carry on with me forever!

Alexandra Foley

Vice President of Social Standards

Hello! My name is Lillian Ekness and I am a second year student studying Physics. I would like to pursue a degree in Astrophysics in graduate school and then work in the research sector. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life so moving to Seattle and the PNW was a big shift for me, but the friends I met through Delta Gamma have greatly helped me adjust. I have loved getting to know all of the different norms and cultures in areas outside of the Midwest. I enjoy going out to eat or shop with my friends because they always know the best spots and take me to new places all the time. I also enjoy being creative through crafts and music, and have gained an appreciation for the piano we have and how playing music brings me and my friends closer. I am very excited and grateful for all the opportunities Delta Gamma has given me to foster new friendships and grow to be the best version of myself. I love that I can step into any room in Delta Gamma and know I have a friend present.

Juliana Nussbaum

Vice President of Member Education

Hey! My name is Juliana Nussbaum, and I am a Sophomore at the University of Washington, currently majoring in Psychology(and hopefully adding a Business minor soon!). I love puzzles, sunset walks, and trying new cheeses! I am originally from Hermosa Beach, California, which is a whole square mile in its entirety. When I moved to Seattle for college, I knew I wanted to meet as many new people as I possibly could, and Delta Gamma gave that to me. A large part of me feeling so welcomed was because of the New Member meetings every Monday, and I am so excited to help the newest members love their home. I love DG and all that it has given to me, and I am so thrilled to give back!

Sophina Matthews

Vice President of Programming

Hey everyone! My name is Sophina Matthews and I am a second year student at UW pursuing a degree in International Studies and Political Science on the Pre-Law track. I am from Olympia Washington and love everything PNW. Skiing, Hiking, Surfing, Camping, and Fishing are just a few of my favorite things to do! Since moving to Seattle for school, I have really enjoyed exploring the city! I have a great passion for traveling, having visited 16 countries and counting. This last summer I was backpacking through Europe, and next year I am attending Semester at Sea! I am really looking forward to this next year on CMT, and specifically coordinating our sisterhood, family, and alumni events. As a legacy, DG means so much to me. I am so grateful for all the amazing life long friendships I have made here. I cannot express how excited I am to be contributing towards the growth of our amazing Beta chapter.

Hi, my name is Merida Prentice, and I’m a junior pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Public Health. I grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, so coming to UW felt almost like staying in my backyard—although my entire family has since moved away. I’ve always had a passion for exploring new places, and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to more than 20 countries! Delta Gamma has given me so much; It has become a second home filled with lifelong friendships, and countless opportunities to challenge myself and grow as a person. I’m so excited to serve as VP Foundation this year and help make a meaningful impact through our chapter’s philanthropic efforts! Giving back has always been a passion of mine, and I can’t wait to see the positive impact we’ll create together!

Cleo Clark-Athens

Hi my name is Kennedy Kaip and I’m a second year planning on majoring in early childhood and family studies. In my future, I hope to become an elementary school teacher while also traveling and exploring the world! I was born in Portland and grew up around that area, but eventually moved to eastern Washington! I love uw because there is so much to do in Seattle, and so many hikes and trails near by! I grew up playing soccer and basketball, and currently play them for fun through school Intermurals! I am very grateful for DG and all the opportunities and life long friendships I have made over this past year! I cannot wait for all the memories I am going to make over these next couple years, and I can’t wait to watch myself grow as a person, but also a leader!
